FERMATE: A TRIP

Wanderschaft

Since August 2020 I have been tripping through Germany by foot as an apprentice of the soil. I have been walking alone and met different people: toads, forests, stones, windmills, lakes in former coal mines, humans, abandoned gardens, sheep, horses, etc. On these trips, which began in the tradition of German craftsmen going away from home as a stage of becoming of age, using their narratives but changing them by way of appropriating them for my needs, I started to realize that what I am doing is part of a planetary theater or planetary performance. We are performing for and with planetary people, with the nonhuman bodies we are encountering as well, as with human bodies.

  1. 2021 Julia Schäfer invited me to present the work in her exhibition appointment x @gfzk Leipzig.

FERMATE: A LANDSCAPE PLAY @Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig 2021

FERMATE: A LANDSCAPE PLAY was developed for this exhibition in 2021. Two large murals were painted, and a sound installation was created for the outside mural, which also served as a planetary theater situation. I activated the created landscapes with two performances for planetary people. In collaboration with my mushroom costume, I danced for the trees and sang Every Breath You Take for them.

I write about the FERMATE here and here.
