Planetary Portraits

… are paintings of a moment in time. Your moment in time. A moment in history. Maybe they are a score for life, a pattern, a body full of potential.

A planetary portrait is a portrait of the sky, visible and invisible from a specific place on earth, at a particular time. It is a chart in the language of Astrology, a constellation. It is a score for the following moments, a stage of stages to develop. It could portray the chart of the foundation of a state, the Federal Republic of Germany for example. It could be the event of an important discovery, like when a planet such as Neptune was found in Berlin. It could be the beginning of a new chapter in life, the moment you started an apprenticeship or a child was born.

I interpret this chart using wax crayons, paper, and watercolor. With color and shape, these small paintings emit a new space.

I am also creating Planetary Portraits as an offering. You receive a Planetary Portrait as an image, a reading in color accompanied by an audio recording with some musings around how the reading in color was choreographed.
